I recently purchased Justin Welsh’s LinkedIn OS, and I have to say—he’s absolutely right about one thing:
You don’t need high-production value to create an excellent course.
But the content? Unmatched.
And that’s what matters.
Yet, so many course creators get stuck in "perfection paralysis."
They worry:
I get it—your course reflects your expertise, and you want it to look and feel premium. My partner and I are the same.
But here’s the truth, which is worth remembering next time you edit your course: Premium is about outcomes, not aesthetics.
Think about the best business books you’ve ever read. Were you impressed by the typography, the page thickness, or insights? Probably not.
It’s the same with online courses.
People invest in transformation, not transitions.
They want a roadmap, not a production reel.
They want clear strategies, not cinematic B-rolls.
They want results, not perfect lighting.
Justin Welsh proves this with LinkedIn OS. His course is simple, straightforward, and no-frills—yet thousands of people swear by it (myself included).
So, if you’ve been delaying your course because it’s not “polished” enough, ask yourself: Would my audience rather have my expertise now or wait six months for perfect editing?
Done is better than perfect.
Results beat aesthetics.
What do you think?
Does high-production value matter in a course, or is content king?
